Lecture Schedule with Tutorial Questions
How do I get Credits?
Credits are gained by passing with a final mark of 50% or more. The class mark is made up from class tests and quizzes. The class mark counts for one third of the final mark; the exam counts for two thirds. Students will only be permitted to write the final examination if their class mark is at least 35%.
What if I miss a test?
Attendance at class tests is compulsory. In case of an illness, a medical certificate must be handed in or faxed to Ms. Nzimande, (Tel: 033 - 260 - 5647, Fax: 033 - 260 - 5648) in room F14, Science Building, NOT LATER THAN 24 HOURS AFTER THE TEST WAS WRITTEN. Such cases will be considered on their merits. A medical certificate does not guarantee that absence will be excused.
University
or club sporting commitments will not be accepted as an
excuse from tests. Students with unavoidable sporting commitments at
national or provincial level which clash with tests must make arrangements
(at least a week in advance) with Mrs. Swart (Room F39) to write a test separately.
