RESEARCH INTERESTS:
I trained as a general topologist under the late RJ Wille and during
the first part of my career worked on topological characterisations of Hilbert Space,
Bitopological spaces and C*-embeddings. More recently I have done applied research using
mathematical modelling techniques applied to problems in Ecology and Finance. At present I
am investigating simple ex-ante investment strategies for South African investors aimed at
optimising risk-adjusted portfolio performance. I am a trustee for the University of KwaZulu-Natal Retirement Fund
